Get Mentoring

All CIPR members in the north east have the opportunity to attend a free half day introductory 'mentoring' workshop on Thursday February 9th at 9.15am - 12.45pm at The Toffee Factory, Ouseburn, Newcastle.

It is being delivered by DEAL Group in partnership with SFEDI (the Small Firms Enterprise Development Initiative), and will introduce you to a range of mentoring skills and give you the tools to become an effective mentor. An essential part of a client relationship.

‘Get Mentoring’ is part of a major government initiative to train those who work with, in and for small businesses to become business mentors. Those who complete the training receive a year’s free membership to the IOEE (Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs), a SFEDI Certificate of Recognition and are allowed to deliver mentoring to any type of micro, small and medium sized business. Once recognised as a mentor, all that is required is that you commit at least one hour a month free mentoring. These could be internally with colleagues or part of your client service.

Mentoring is a two-way process. As well as offering to share your experience to help others, it can give you personal fulfilment from investing in those you mentor, stimulate your own learning and improve your own development and performance.

Don't miss out - places on this free course are limited so book today!

Organiser

CIPR North East Group

Our members work in-house in the public, private and voluntary sectors, in consultancies or as independent practitioners. We welcome student members and support CIPR recognised courses, currently at Sunderland and Newcastle Universities.

Our aim is to support members in the region and to promote the value of professional PR to organizations and businesses.

We run a varied programme of events throughout the year designed to develop our professional skills, keep up to date with major issues in the region and in the profession and to provide opportunities to network - and enjoy ourselves.
